Introducing Wines of South America

Posted on: March 15th, 2018 by Jen Cornell No Comments

Our new wine flight features South America! Warm up from the cold with a taste of a sunnier destination. The featured wines are a diverse live up with something for every palate.

The Coralillo 2016 Sauvignon Blanc, San Antonio Valley D.O., from Chile is a  highly aromatic Sauvignon Blanc. It delivers potent aromas of green chiles, grapefruit, and papaya that give way to a juicy, acidic palate with both savory and citric qualities and an elegant minerality.

The 2014 Syrah Gran Reserva from Aconcagua, Chile is sure to delight. The Echeverria family has been producing excellent wines from Chile for over four generations, and it has remained a true family business. This Syrah is powerfully aromatic and concentrated, with notes of poblano, smoke, and velvety black fruit.

The Gen Del Alma JIJIJI is a 2017 Pinot Noir/ Malbec from Mendoza, Argentina.  This fun blend of Pinot and Malbec is an unusual offering for the Mendoza area of Argentina; this wine undergoes carbonic maceration which lends uniquely luscious notes of vibrant red fruit, rhubarb, and bubble gum with a touch of intriguing minerality.

Stop in today for a glass and you might just walk out buying a bottle of one of these delicious options!

Ian Youngs Helps MLive Find the Best Cocktail in Ann Arbor

Posted on: August 2nd, 2017 by Jen Cornell No Comments

Our very own Ian Youngs recently had the very tough job of helping MLive find the very best cocktails in Ann Arbor. He started the jobs by treating reporter Kit Maher to one of our signature summer drinks, Some Like it Hot.

Describing what’s important in a summer cocktail, Youngs said,

“It’s humid and hot. We want something that’s going to quench the thirst,” Youngs said. “I’m going to be paying attention to the techniques used to make it…if it’s executed, if it’s balanced…perfect harmony.”

Introducing our new summer menu!

Posted on: June 29th, 2017 by Jen Cornell No Comments

If you’re like Chef Adam, you’re pretty excited to see fresh produce hitting the farmer’s market. Chef’s capitalizing on those new flavors with our new summer menu. Chef’s commitment to creating delicious meals using the freshest foods available really shine in a few of our favorite dishes.

A few highlights:

  • Rotating melon salad featuring heirloom melon – whatever is freshest at the time!, burrata, speck water cress, pumpernickel, and a honey vinaigrette

  • T-bone lamb chops served with bulgarian feta, chickpeas, zucchini fritter, cucumber, tomato, oregano, and greek yogurt

  • Asian inspired salmon with ginger, sushi rice, lemon grass, carrot puree, wakame, gai lan, and miso glaze

  • Brown rice chop salad with mung bean, edamame, scallion, carrot, radish, nappa cabbage, and a sesame-mustard vinaigrette

  • And, last but certainly not least, Jack Fruit Tamales with black beans, callaloo, tostones, pico de gallo, tomatillo, and miel de cacoa.

We’re pretty proud that our jack fruit tamales were crowned people’s choice at the recent Taste of Ann Arbor!
